Raised in a nomadic military family, by age five I had called 4 states home. We settled in Arizona for 5 years. I grew up playing in the desert near my home, awestruck by nature and its colors - the tarantulas, the lizards and especially the butterflies that
would stop and drink nectar from the mimosa trees in our yard on their migration to Mexico. The desert is an intense place. Rainstorms transform the desert into a flowered paradise…but floods carry cars down the arroyos.
Nature deeply influences my art. I'm drawn to its beauty in many aspects.
I earned a B.S. in Marketing from the Ohio State University, then I followed my true path and earned a B.F.A. in Illustration from The Columbus College of Art & Design. After graduation I helped teach fundamentals of drawing for the Saturday School at CCAD. In addition to digital design, I work in woodcut, watercolor, pen and ink and pastel. There’s a hand-crafted quality I want to put into my designs - I use photography and my illustration skills to provide solid creative solutions. I have broad experience in retail fashion – I traveled between Express, The Limited, Victoria's Secret and other past and present divisions of L Brands Inc. I've expanded my horizons to include agency environments these last couple of years.
Ohio is not too bad - the summers here are lush and green and we have abundant water…and you can surf the Great Lakes.
